Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye has reacted to the news of a 12-year-old girl who unalive her 8-year-old cousin in Humboldt, Tennessee USA.
According to reports, a relative said the girls had been arguing over an iPhone while at their grandmother’s place. Consequently, while they got into their room, the argument continued and the 12-year-old unalived the 8-year-old identified as Demeria Hollingsworth.
A CCTV recording in the room shows the older child using bedding to suffocate her cousin as the younger girl slept in the top bunk. After the latter passed away, the former cleaned up the victim and repositioned her body. She has been charged with first-degree m*rder.
Taking to her Instagram page, Bimbo shared the story and advised parents to safeguard their children and be very vigilant.
She thanked her fans who related the incident of the 12-year-old to her movie, ‘Shining Star’ which tackled abuse and trauma in children. Bimbo emphasised on the importance of vigilance in parenting despite receiving backlash from some viewers who found the storyline of her movie unrealistic.
She wrote;
“Posted this on my story and thought to bring it on here. Saw this on @lindaikejiblogofficial and got a number of tags from people saying it reminded them of “SHINING STAR”. I was shocked I won’t lie. I remember when shining star aired, I got a number of backlash on how the movie wasn’t “realistic “. Some said it didn’t “make sense” , storyline no follow, how would an 11 year old boy hide a body , how would he even think about it. Someone even said lopeda talked too much 🤣😅😅. Asin a 12 year old talked too much .😂🤣🤣. A number of people didn’t like it because it wasn’t happily ever after. Some even said there’s no way it could have been a true life story. Anyways, a large number of people could relate, single parents, kids who had been abused by thier parents, kids who had been abused my relatives who are now adults but still live with the trauma. Multiple mothers reached out to me and told me how the film touched them… YouTube limited monetization and views. In all, I’m soooooooo grateful for you guys, ALL opinions are more than welcome (yes! Even criticisms too. We can always agree to disagree)
“Dear parents, PLEASE, be very watchful and very present. You have no idea what your kids are seeing, watching or hearing. The world is in a different place today, be vigilant! A ku Monday o.”
