Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye is amazed and reflective on her journey after she earned three nominations at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
The stunning comedic actress earned nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy, Best Online Social Content Creator, and Best Actress in a Drama category.
On her Instagram page, Bimbo Ademoye shares the good news and reflects on her journey. She notes how her ‘Iya Barakat’ personality, which began as a joke, has taken her to greater heights.
Bimbo, who has been unwell since her trip to Cape Town for the premiere of Queen Charlotte disclosed that she woke up to an overwhelming outpour of love from fans and well-wishers on her phone. Appreciative of the gesture, she expressed her gratitude to them.

She wrote:
“I’ve been a little under the weather. Cape Town cold no be here. So I went to bed early last night. Woke up this morning with my phone on fire. Thank you @africamagic for the nomination.
Most importantly, thank you to every single one of you for all the love you have bombarded me with. Most of you would say “If Bimbo dey d feem I no dey watch’. Like what have I done to deserve you? What exactly?
Iya Barakat got a nomination? Same iya Barakat that started as a joke? But because you guys finished the show with love. It has now been nominated for an award show. I’m still in awe. Thank you so much, guys. I love you dearly. Pls, don’t forget to vote. God bless you, guys”.
