The fashion bible unveiled its September issue on Thursday.
It being mid-August, it was only a matter of time before the cover of Vogue‘s much-anticipated September issue leaked to the masses. On Wednesday night, a Twitter account by the name of @Bey_Legion did just that, posting a “first look” of Vogue‘s 2015 September issue — starring none other than Mrs. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter herself. The magazine then revealed the cover, photographed by Mario Testino, as well as a teaser from Beyoncé’s cover story, in a release emailed to Fashionista on Thursday morning.
The confirmed cover features the 33-year-old megastar wearing Marc Jacobs, looking as ***Flawless as ever and posing up against a chair with wet tousled hair — a runway trend that’s made its way to the covers of several other September issues as well. According to an Instagram post from Jacobs, no designer has been featured on two Vogue covers in a row — until now; Nicole Kidman wore a sequined dress from the label’s fall 2015 collection on the glossy’s 2015 August issue.
This is Beyoncé‘s third Vogue cover. She previously appeared on the March 2013 issue, lensed by Patrick Demarchelier, and on the April 2009 issue, shot by Testino. Though Beyoncé and Vogue have enjoyed a close professional relationship, the cover is somewhat of a “get” for Vogue given that the singer has declined to give an interview for more than a year, The New York Times reported in May.
Vogue‘s 2015 September issue will first be available at Target stores nationwide and online via Amazon starting Friday, Aug. 14. It hits newsstands in New York and Los Angeles on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
