For Betty Irabor, lifestyle guru and publisher of Genevieve Magazine, 60, is not just a number. It is the symbol for the conquests she has made and the dreams she has achieved. Even at three scores, she is trudging with the energy of someone half her age, her mind brimming with ideas that threaten to burst forth like a heavy rain.
The popular columnist, philanthropist and writer turned 60 on March 25 and took to a luxury boat to celebrate the occasion. On the boat cruise was a cream of A-list celebrities who converged to felicitate with her like reverent planets paying homage to the sun. The celebratory train moved to Villa Medici on Victoria Island the next day.
