BBNAIJA: The fracas that ensued between Whitemoney and Pere

As the popular reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria, BBNaija, Season 6 show themed ‘Shine Ya Eye’ continues to get heated following drama caused by some housemates, viewers have cautioned Biggie against putting one of the housemates, Pere Egbi at risk, saying that he is playing a script that might land him in trouble after the show.

Recall that early Tuesday morning, Pere confronted Whitemoney and demanded to know what he told Angel during a game.

According to the rules spelt out by Cross, the moderator, a person secretly tells another something about a third party.

The other person then goes to meet the individual he or she thinks the information is about. When Cross called out Pere to play the game, he insisted on hearing what the previous player whispered, a violation of the rules.

Although the game was about to end, his attitude caused an abrupt halt and the housemates dispersed. Minutes later, Pere walked to where Whitemoney was laying while Tega plaited his beards.

As though ready for a fight, Pere inclined towards Whitemoney, pulled his belt and repeatedly asked what he mumbled to Angel. Whitemoney, who later said he initially thought Pere’s confrontation was a joke, disclosed what he murmured.

Other housemates told him not to speak further but he explained it was better to clear the air. Once the matter got serious due to Pere’s insistence, Whitemoney flared up and condemned what had happened.

He got 100 percent support from housemates. They accused Pere of bullying and urged him to apologize. Their counsel fell on deaf ears as he blatantly refused.

During a peace meeting – at the garden – called by the Head of House, Maria, and attended by Boma, her deputy, Pere recalled the first day he saw Whitemoney.

“You didn’t like me, you avoided me. We were all talking but you didn’t make eye contact. I had to come to you, stare in your face and greet you. Why are you intimidated by me?”

In his response, Whitemoney, real name Hazel Oyeye Onou, clarified he never had heard or got prior information that Pere (who claimed a BBNaija chaperone exposed him) was the wildcard.

Whitemoney said he had nothing against Pere and didn’t know why the latter torments him. “You doubt my ability because I didn’t go to school. I guessed you were a wildcard because I have that talent…I’m gifted bro.

“God is my witness, the truth is I admire you. After you introduced yourself, I was like ‘this guy is privileged’. We’ve been together in two groups and we didn’t fight. If we are in the same group again, we’ll be cool.

“We don’t need to be friends, let’s just face why we are here. How can you make a grown man feel like a boy? For a moment, I felt oppressed. You can’t try this sh*t in the street. It’s either you get killed or I get killed. One of us will die.”

But an unfazed Pere vowed not to say sorry and suggested he was ready for a face-off outside the House.

“I will express myself in any way I feel like. I’ll say it again, you’re fake. You just threatened me, I am ready for whatever it is. I have got to levels, I don’t fear anyone”, he replied.

Condemning his actions, some members of the audience ascribe Pere’s “arrogance” to the “backing” of BBNaija organizers.

Born June 27, 1986, Pere hails from Warri in Delta State. He mentioned joining the U.S. military so that he could become a citizen quickly.

Raised by a single mum, he got to America in 2009 and became a citizen in 2010 after becoming a member of the Armed Forces.

He was in service for six years before returning to Nigeria for a career in real estate. The University of Benin (UNIBEN) graduate has already featured in a few Nollywood movies.
