The collapse of some celebrity marriages in 2022 has continued to send shock waves among Nigerians, especially their fans who see glamorous pictures and lifestyles worthy to emulate.

Glamsquad complies the list of celebrities who called it quit with their partners in the outgoing year.
1. BasketMouth and Elsie
Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha better known as Basketmouth announced the end of his 12-year-old marriage to his wife, Elsie on 22nd December 2022.
The father of four announced on his Instagram page. He assured to peacefully co-parent with his wife in taking care of their children.
The comedian who didn’t give reasons for the divorce pleaded with the public to respect their privacy.
2. Kalu Ikeagwu and Ijeoma
Nollywood actor, Kalu Ikeagwu sought the dissolution of his six-year-old marriage to his estranged wife, Ijeoma, a makeup artist.
Ikeagwu in his argument told an Ikeja High Court in May that his estranged wife, Ijeoma, allegedly deserted their matrimonial home and prevented him from gaining access to their two children. He also seeks full custody of his three-year-old son and ten-year-old step-daughter.
3. Korra Obidi and Justin Dean
The separation between Nigerian entertainer, Korra Obid and her partner, Justin Dean came as a shocker to many in March 2022.
Having been together for four years, Justin Dean, an American chiropractor announced the end of his marriage with Korra over infidelity. Their union was legally dissolved in November with Korra winning custody of their children, June and Athena.
4. Julius Agwu and Ibiere
Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, and writer, Julius Agwu and his wife, Ibiere tied the knot in 2008. However, after fourteen years of marriage, both went their separate ways.
According to Agwu in an interview with media personality, Daddy Freeze, he claimed his wife said she is tired of the marriage. The comedian also said Ibiere abandoned her matrimonial home in 2022 because of his ill health.
5. Kunle Afod and Desola
Nigerian movie director and actor, Kunle and his wife separated after much drama in their union of nineteen years.
In a short Instagram post on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, Desola announced the crash of their marriage.
She wrote: “The good news you wanna hear. I left Kunle Afod.”
The actor had yet to comment at the time this report was filed.
6. Funke Akindele and JJC
Celebrity couple, Funke Akindele better known as Jennifer who is currently vying for the seat of Deputy Governor in the forthcoming general elections, and Abdul Rasheed Bello better known as JJC got married in May 2016.
However, in June 2022, JJC announced their separation, noting that the marriage was “beyond repair.”
7. Yewande Adekoya and Abiodun Ishola Thomas
Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Yewande Adekoya’s marriage hit the rock bottom in April 2022. The mother of two, while publicizing the end of her marriage, revealed that she had been experiencing emotional abuse for 14 years.
8. Dancers Kaffy and Joseph Ameh
Celebrity Choreographer, Kafayat Shafau popularly known as Kaffy and her husband, Joseph Ameh officially parted ways in 2021.
However, the news of their divorce made rounds in January 2022 Kaffy disclosed in one of her podcast episodes ‘JustKaffy’ that she’s single but not searching.
The dancer revealed that she was bitter in her marriage and that taking a chance to break up her marriage was to see both parties.
9. Saint Obi and Lynda
The news of veteran Nollywood actor, Obinna Nwafor, better known as Saint Obi, divorcing his wife, Lynda Nwafor was made public in February. The Judge handling the case, Omotayo O. Majekodunmi, issued a bench warrant for her arrest.
In a suit filed at the High Court of Ogun State with suit number HCT/128/2019, the actor accused Lynda and her brothers, Michael, and Chukwumobi Amobi, of attempting to kill him.
10. Oritsefemi and Nabila Fash
The union between Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oritsefemi and his wife, Nabila Fash hit the rock after five years.
Nabila Fash confirmed they were officially separated and heading for a divorce during a live video session with popular OAP Daddy Freeze.
11. Paul Okoye and Anita
PSquare singing duo, Paul Okoye and Anita got married on 22nd March 22, 2014. However, the two officially divorced in November 2022 after several social media dramas.
