Nigerian Comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known by his stage name Basktmouth has revealed he will retire from professional comedy when he is 50.
In an interview with TVC on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the comedian, who has long been a favorite of the audience, made this clear and said he planned to make every year leading up to his retirement count.
Also, he stated that he wanted to try something novel that would stay in people’s minds for a long time.

He said;
“Last year, I told myself and my team, you know what, I am going back to comedy. I want to do five years, and I am quitting. I am quitting in 5 years. I have got five years to do this, and I am done. I will still be cracking jokes, but it wouldn’t be a professional thing.
“I want to experience something new, and I want to be remembered for something else other than comedy.”
