Bankole Wellington, widely known as Banky W, who transitioned from singing to politics, and his wife, actress Adesua Etomi, have celebrated the arrival of their second child, a son.
Banky W announced the joyous news on his Instagram page this Wednesday, sharing a video that highlighted his active involvement in family life following his son’s birth.
In the video, Banky can be seen cooking and helping around the house, reflecting his belief that marriage is about mutual support, “100-100, not 50-50.”
Banky mentioned that following the arrival of their son, he has taken on multiple roles, ranging from chef and housekeeper to homework assistant and masseur. He believes that these roles are integral to being an active and supportive husband and father to their two children.
The politician also used the opportunity to advocate for gender equality and the importance of uplifting women.
“Supporting women’s economic power means doing my part in our home and community,” he wrote.
Banky, who is also pursuing a master’s in policy management at Georgetown University in the US, emphasized his commitment to advocating for working mothers and families.
“When we uplift our women, we uplift our world,” he added, encouraging other men to step up in their roles at home and beyond.
Adesua expressed her gratitude in the comment section, calling him “the best partner in the entire world,” and adding, “Nobody else I’d rather be doing this life with. Love you, bubba.”
The couple previously announced they were expecting a baby in a joint Instagram post on October 14.
The post celebrated their journey from being a couple to a family of four, with the actress playfully noting that if acting doesn’t work out, modelling is always a backup.
