Badgley and Mischka, renowned for their glamorous eveningwear, added a fresh twist to their collection by incorporating more casual daytime silhouettes—a nod to versatility and a tribute to Mexico.
“The clothes had to be versatile, and take her a lot of places,” said Mark Badgley. To achieve this, they introduced texture and dimension to their designs, evident in wrap-tied day dresses featuring large cargo pockets and breezy off-the-shoulder floral prints.
Surprisingly, the simplest pieces stood out the most, like a coral sheath dress with a draped, cape-like neckline—understated yet undeniably chic.
As expected, their eveningwear stole the spotlight. Formal gowns showcased luxurious laces, feathers, and georgettes, all with a light and airy feel. A chocolate brown, one-shouldered lace dress adorned with layers of feathers at the bust evoked old-Hollywood glamour, a piece Ava Gardner herself might have worn.
While the strapless blue satin gown with cascading ruffles felt slightly overdone, the overall collection balanced opulence with a newfound ease, offering a modern take on their signature silhouettes.
