Ay Makun celebrates second daughter, Ayomide as she clocks 3 with emotional note

Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has shared a heartfelt message to celebrate his second daughter, Ayomide, on her 3rd birthday.

AY took to his Instagram page to share adorable photos of his daughter, expressing his gratitude for the precious moments they’ve shared. Reflecting on how quickly she’s growing, he admitted he misses seeing her run around like she used to but feels deeply thankful for every memory. AY lovingly described Ayomide as his mini-me and a priceless blessing that arrived after 13 years of waiting and hope.

AY shared how Ayomide’s arrival brought immense joy to his life, reaffirming his faith in the power of love and hope. He acknowledged the challenges that have disrupted the unity they once called family but assured her of the unwavering love she has from both him and her mother.

The proud father gushed over Ayomide’s infectious laughter, boundless curiosity, and sweet spirit, which light up the lives of everyone around her. Expressing his deep affection, he wrote:

“Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter Ayomide (My Joy Has Come)!

Today, I celebrate you turning 3 years old, and even though I do not see you to run around with like I used to, I couldn’t be more grateful for every moment we’ve shared. You are a shining light in my life, a precious gift that came after 13 years of waiting and hoping. Your arrival filled my heart with joy and confirmed my belief in the power of love and faith.

Though so many unrepairable occurrence have engulfed the unit we once called family, I do know that you are deeply loved by your mum and me. Your laughter, curiosity, and sweet spirit bring so much happiness to everyone around you. I cherish every hug, every giggle, and every moment we spend together.

In April 2023, AY publicly confirmed the end of his nearly 20-year marriage to Mabel, expressing deep regret over the loss of his home. He admitted to having made compromising choices during their marriage and cautioned against false narratives that could harm his family, particularly his teenage daughter. AY subtly suggested that some of the issues stemmed from his wife’s side as well.

Mabel, on her path acknowledged the change in her dreams of a lifelong marriage and pleaded for privacy as they adjusted to their new reality. She dismissed the false rumours surrounding her but chose to honour her children by refraining from addressing the allegations publicly.

In November, blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus alleged that AY had not been allowed to see his second daughter since the marriage dissolved, as Mabel had reportedly denied him access. Sources claimed AY resorted to contacting his daughter through her nanny, however things got bad when Mabel found out.
