The 27-year-old forward, instrumental in Barcelona Femeni’s triumph in the UEFA Women’s Champions League last season, triumphed over South Africa’s Thembi Klagtlana and Zambia’s Barbara Banda to clinch the award on Monday, 11th December in Morocco.

As a nominee for the 2023 Ballon d’Or, Oshoala makes history by becoming the first woman to secure the award for an unprecedented sixth time.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons’s Chiamaka Nnadozie won the Goalkeeper of the Year.
