Mr. Fatai Odunsi, a man claiming to be the father of singer, Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has publicly appealed for help, alleging neglect by his son. He is seeking financial assistance from Nigerians as he struggles with his deteriorating health.
According to reports circulating online, the singer has allegedly abandoned his father, who was left paralyzed after suffering a stroke. Photos and videos of the ailing man have surfaced on X sparking widespread discussion.
I am Asake’s father, the singer. When I had a stroke in March. The last time I saw him was in 2022 and when I call I’m he doesn’t pick. I’m frustrated and that’s why I’m appealing to you, I need your help.
Mr. Odunsi is appealing for funds to manage his medical condition. However, conflicting narratives have emerged—while some claim he was an absent father who abandoned Asake in childhood, others insist he was actively involved in his son’s life, while Asake’s mother, now close to him, was the one who distanced herself in the past.
The video sparked controversy online. While some criticized the singer for allegedly neglecting his father, others called out Mr. Odunsi for what they perceived as an entitlement mentality.
