“AJ” last fought in August, losing a second consecutive decision to Oleksandr Usyk and failing to reclaim his WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles.

Tyson Fury then offered Joshua a shot at the WBC belt, but the Brits couldn’t agree on what would have been the biggest heavyweight fight of this generation. Fury instead boxed Derek Chisora for the third time, defeating him via TKO to remain undefeated.

Joshua, 33, has been linked with a rematch with Dillian Whyte, whom AJ defeated as an amateur but knocked out in a professional bout in 2015.

“I like to see my name mentioned among other fighters all the time,” Joshua told The Sun this week. “Opportunities to fight are always available to me.

“I’ll fight whoever’s ready; I’m ready and we’ll get cracking in the new year. I want to be consistent and fight-ready, and everything else will follow.

“I’m dying for the world championship, 100%. That’s all my heart and soul are aiming for, but I lost a fight this year, knocking me out of contention for the championship title.
