The Nollywood film “Amina” is based on the well-known narrative of Queen Amina of Zauzau. Her life as a young girl was depicted in the film, which depicted her challenges, love life, and pains. Amina had always been a feisty kid who stood up for what she believed in and could take on anyone. She was fortunate to have a father who adored her and would go to great lengths to protect her and her sister Zaria.
Amina chose one of the slaves who is also the cousin of Prince Danjuma, a prince of one of the seized neighboring cities, as a companion, and although though their friendship soured for many reasons, Amina still loved her till the end. The plot revolves around betrayal, the pursuit of power, love, loyalty, and fate. The big question is whether Amina was able to fulfill her destiny. What did she have to lose in order for that to happen?

The excitement in the first scene is enough to pique anyone’s interest in the rest of the film. The soundtrack, the fight in the initial scene, and the introduction of the characters are all enough to keep you watching. However, not every film has been able to maintain that quick pace from the start. Those who have been able to do so deserve a standing ovation.
The directing is excellent, and the battle scenes, in particular, appeared to be realistic. Then there was the casting of the actors, which was flawless. It was flawless, and the expressions on their faces could be read. To be honest, they did a fantastic job portraying the persona.
Amina is a stunning actress who, even as a child, perfectly embraced the part.
In terms of the plot, despite the fact that the history is well-known, the writer realized exactly which aspect of Amina’s life would pique people’s attention and went for it. The plot twists, good points, low points, and even the tragedies were all well-written. The writer successfully demonstrated that seeing a historical film may keep you hooked to your seat as if you had never heard the story before.

“At a period when women were subjugated,” reads an inscription at the start of the film. However, there was no indication in the film that they oppressed women. In reality, the King stated that in Zauzau, ladies are usually protected. So, what was the author’s thought process?
The photography, set, makeup, and costume were all excellent, adding to the film’s vibrancy.
Overall, Amina is a good film that you will enjoy watching again and again.
