Mr. Nweze, Agwu Igwe is a nationally renowned finance Expert, a Physiologist and a seasoned debt recovery and reconciliation Expert with over 20 years experience working in public and private sectors of the economy.
He is currently the Acting Chairman, Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Services (EBSIRS) where he has brought reforms in the revenue generation of the state. Since his assumption of duty as the Chairman of the Board in February, 2021 he has improved and increased the internal revenue of the state by fighting the over 18years corruption existing in the Board. He sanitized and restored due process in the workings of the State’s Internal Revenue Generation and Evaluation. Tax evasion and fraud have been halted in the state as he discovered the sharp practices of Banks, Industries and firms and restored integrity of the Board.
Mr. Nweze, Agwu Igwe, is a well trained Tax, Accounting and Management Professional with highly rated qualifications and professional practicing licenses from relevant Professional bodies. He is an Associate Member Chartered Institute of Finance and control of Nigeria (CIFN), Associate Member Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management and a Student Member Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
He is an expert in rendering advisory support services to the government in due process/management. This is evident in his portfolios as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Finance and due process (September 2019-till date), Head Debt Management Department (September 2020-till date) and Chairman Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), Ebonyi State. He has continued to render services to the government and other public enterprises in trading, services and manufacturing sectors of the economy.
His appointment as the Chairman of MIREMCO came from the Minister of Mines and Steel who studiously chose him out of the nominations of the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.
While serving in these capacities since September, 2018 when he was the Senior Technical Assistant to the Governor on finance, he also served as Member of different State committees such as; Ebonyi State 2019 Budget Committee, Committee Member on reconciliation of all income and expenditure of the state government from June 2015 to May 2019, committee member on review of the state UBEB inflows and expenditures from June 2015 to December, 2019 , Exco committee on IOU investigation and recovery, committee on review of tax payment in MDA’s from 2015, Chairman EXCO central committee on IGR, Chairman Exco sub-committee on bank debt and IGR, Secretary/Member EXCO committee on Agro-based loan disbursement, Exco/House of Assembly Joint Committee on IGR recovery, Secretary/ Member Exco committee on review of misappropriation of funds approved for the Triplet mother and her children and Member 2020 Budget Review.
These tasks are as a result of his hardwork and result oriented personality.
Mr. Agwu, Nweze Igwe delights in self improvement and innovation. He prepared himself for these services by readily attending Workshops/Seminars since August 2007 till date. The Seminars/Workshops that prepared him are; Fraud and Control awareness course by Ndackson & Co Ltd (August, 2007), Supervisory Skills Workshop by IRIS consulting (November, 2008), Money laundering Training Seminar by Derflaab Consultants (October, 2008), Intermediate service magic by TVQ consulting (March, 2009), Intermediate banking operations by Prime Human Capital Resources Limited (July, 2010), Managing consumer complaints in the Nigerian banking industry by CIBN (June, 2012), Embracing Ethics & Values; the best practice for finance and control in Nigeria (August, 2013), AML, CFT Compliance (yearly since, October 2014) and Managing Physical workplace facilities (March, 2015) .
Mr. Agwu, Nweze Igwe attended the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bachelor degree (B.Sc Hons.) in Human Physiology (2000) and a Certificate Diploma in Computer from a Computer Professional Institute (2000).
Immediately after his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Osun State (2001-2002), he started his career with FSB International Bank Plc in 2004 as the Customer Service Officer (2004-2005). In the banking sector where he started his career, he rose to Head of Operations (TSD Head) in Fidelity Bank Plc in 2017 before he became the Head of field Operation, Tax, at Global Research and Business Consultant Ltd, 2018. At Global Research and Business consultants Ltd, he acquired Tax review and reconciliation knowledge and headed the field operations of the company; reviewing and reconciling bank account statements and tax liabilities of companies within various states of the nation.
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi having discovered him appointed him as his Senior Technical Assistant (STA) on Finance in September 2018 where he proved his mettle to the state as he was known and regarded for his sincerity, honesty and diligence. That brought him to his present position as the Acting Chairman Internal Revenue Services of Ebonyi State. As the Senior Technical Assistant (STA) to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Financial matters, he reconciled all the State’s Bank Accounts and received all the excess bank charges and under-crediting of agreed interests in fixed deposits. That feat earned him a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Finance and Due process in December, 2019.

Mr. Agwu, Nweze Igwe has since proved bookmakers right that he is more than equal to any task and ready to contribute enviably to the economic growth and development of the nation and the continent of Africa.
