“To say I was overwhelmed by the show of love is an understatement. Lagos Mainland crowd showed us massive love. I want to thank all our sponsors and supporters,” DJ Jimmy Jatt said after the succesful outing on Jimmy Jump off – The Lagos Mainland edition.
Some months back, an altercation almost ensued between veteran disc jockey, DJ Jimmy Jatt and controversial singer Terry G, when the latter slapped the DJ’s apprentice during a show. Soon after, a circular was passed round the DJs in Nigeria urging all members not to play Terry G’s songs.
Knowing how that decision might have an adverse effect on his career, the singer was quick to apologise for his conduct.
Although his apology had since been accepted, both parties had not been seen on stage together until last weekend during Jimmy Jatt’s annual show, Jimmy Jump off. The Lagos Mainland edition of the popular concert left the mammoth crowd of fun-seekers with a lot of unforgettable memories.
A major highlight of the night was when DJ Jimmy Jatt joined Terry G on stage during his highly-riveting performance of his popular songs. It was the first time the two entertainers would be performing together on stage after the ugly incident.
The mainland crowd went gaga when Pasuma and Small Doctor mounted the stage churning out street-tested hit songs. Other top performing acts include Rayce, Dr. Sid, Vector, Terry Apala, Dice Ailes, Dot Man and Sound Sultan.
Crossover Disc Jockey, DJ Xclusive, set the tempo for the night with an adrenalin-pumping performance of his hit songs such as Pangolo, Shawarma and Ibebe. Mavin Records’ official Disc Jockey, DJ Big N, swayed the crowd with his chart-topping hit song, Erima, featuring Wizkid. Other star DJs who sustained the tempo include DJ Spinall, DJ Stramborella, DJ Switch, DJ Mekzy, DJ Humility, DJ Nana, DJ Lambo and DJ Enimoney.
