The acting president of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas Ejezie, has giving his opinion on the on going Tu Face Idibia and Anne Idibia saga.
According to the AGN president, actors and actresses in the industry are falling for blackmail and social media bashing.
Referring to current issues surrounding Anne Idibia and Tonto Dikeh, the boss said that the body will not allow any of its members to be blackmailed and bullied by social media detractors whom he said are after cheap fame.
You will recall that in the past days, some popular actresses have been involved in social media lashings as a result of their personal marital issues making the limelight.
Taking to his Instagram yesterday, the president said:
“Events of the last few days have shown that Actresses are now marked for blackmail especially hinging it on the basis of relationship gone awry. But should it be a reason for publishing private conversations without consent of the other party?
We shall use this one to set example to serve as a deterrent to all other persons including bloggers presently profiling actresses for blackmail to have a rethink”, he wrote.
“We will no longer fold our hands and watch our members taken to public ridicule via invasion of privacy. We are also looking into cases where our certified members have taken to social media to call fellow member out or make statements that can bring disrepute to our Guild or cause disharmony among members”, he added.
