The late gospel singer Aduke Gold has been laid to rest, and a poignant video of her burial has emerged online, capturing the profound emotions and solemn goodbye of her last journey.
The lying in state and burial service took place on Friday, August 23, at the Lagos African Church Grammar School, College Bus Stop, College Road, Ogba, starting at 9 am.
Viral clips showed heartbroken family members arriving at the funeral ceremony, their faces marked with sorrow and loss, moving with the heavy burden of grief.
The air was heavy with grief as people came together to bid farewell to a woman whose voice had once brought hope to many.
Attention turned to the pallbearers, clad in vibrant striped aso oke and coordinating caps, their steps a haunting dance as they bore her immaculate white coffin.
Their somber, yet spirited dance challenged the gloom of mortality, turning the funeral march into a profound expression of life, belief, and the unyielding soul of a cherished gospel singer.
In a break from tradition, a hearse was selected to transport her to her final resting place. Eschewing the customary somber black, the family chose a pure white hearse, possibly symbolizing the purity and grace that characterized Aduke’s life.
Adorning the hearse’s windscreen was a wreath, ingeniously crafted to form her name, “Aduke,” in a floral homage as stunning as it was poignant. Her photograph was displayed prominently by the license plate, serving as a touching tribute to a woman whose influence will undoubtedly endure well beyond her life.
