Ade baker has always been a force to recon with when it comes to nNgerian luxury fashion.
showcasing his 2017 summer collection in a private viewing with friends and clients of his brand at the wheat baker hotel yesterday 4th December 2016.
The show kicked off with designs from two budding designers , LOLA and Anthony Suarez . LOLA’s collection was a mix of silk and glittery lace and some as oke , crated for the day to day wear to any occasion for the african woman and inspired by her mum . Anthony showed a men’s wear collection , a fluidity of native atiers.
The highlight of the show was the tribute to the Late Remi Lagos . A collection designed by Ade Bakare , inspired by Remi , interpreting looks she would have created fro, just dropping fabrics on a mannequin and detailing them . He called it the black and white collection , which constituted of flowing bubus , kimono’s and tops and pants. The outfits where modeled by close clients and friends such as Bimbo Akinola , Mosun Ogunbanjo, Blessing Elbe to mention a few . The show ended with the Ade Bakare Summer Couture collection Total Luxury . A fluid collection for the total woman , a mix of bold and pastel colors , with lace , organza and raw silk fabrics, embellished with beads .
The viewing was attended by distinguished socialites, press , very important Nigerians, top officials of corporate organizations such as Ndidi okonkow , Erelu Dosumu, Opal Benson, Linda Ikeji, Ifoma Willams .
While giving his vote of thanks Ade Bakare mentioned he would be launching a fashion design school in a few months.
