Actress Nia Long breaks silence on Celtics head coach Ime Udoka’s affair with a female worker

Nia Long, a Hollywood actress, has spoken out after learning that her fiancé and Boston Celtics basketball club coach, Ime Udoka, cheated on her with one of the team’s employees, glamsquad reports

On Thursday, September 22, the Boston Celtics suspended Udoka for violating ethics rules by having a consensual affair with an unnamed staffer.

 

Long, 51, has been married to Udoka, 45, a former NBA player turned coach, for over a decade.

 

They got engaged in 2015 but never married, despite the fact that they have a ten-year-old son. She also has a son from a previous marriage.

It was believed she discovered his infidelity through social media.

 

 

The actress, who co-starred in Fresh Prince of Bel Air with Will Smith, told TMZ in a statement that the affair caught her off guard, as she prepares to relocate to Boston to be with her longtime beau.

 

Long told TMZ, ‘The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the community during this difficult time means so much to me.’

 

‘I respectfully request that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events.’

 

‘Above all, I am a mother, and I will continue to prioritize my children,’ she stated.

Udoka issued the following statement on Thursday night: ‘I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down.’

‘I apologize for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the decision of the team.’

‘I will make no further comment out of respect for everyone involved.’
