Actor Tom Jackson dies at 63 following cancer battle

Tom Jackson, star of the Netflix series Queer Eye, has passed away after a fight with metastatic adenocarcinoma, a gland cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. He was 63.

The news was announced on the Queer Eye Instagram, where presenters Tan France and Jonathan Van Ness expressed their sorrow at the passing of their friend, who appeared on the premiere of the Netflix relaunch in 2018.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a member of our family. Rest in peace, Tom Jackson,” read the post, which included photos of the late guest on the show.

“Such incredibly sad news,” penned France in the comment section, with Van Ness writing: “RIP Tom.”

Co-host Bobby Berk later wrote: “Having a Redneck Margarita in your honor.”

According to his obituary, Jackson passed away on March 3 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, where he had spent his last moments with loved ones.

Together with the rest of his family, he is survived by his daughter Katie Phelps, his two grandchildren Chandler and Watson Phelps, and his sisters Kozetta Stewart and Jackie Lynn Childers.
