Nigeria’s foremost designer Abah Folawiyo is clocking 80 years of age on the 22nd of July 2022. The ageless beauty and fashionista popularly known as Sisi Abah is one of the foremost designers in the Nigerian fashion industry. She has clothed top celebrities both in and outside the country.

Abah folawiyo is the wife of the late Baba Adinni of Yorubaland Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo. Sisi Abah was born and raised in Ghana from a lineage of remarkable dressmakers. After her relocation to Nigeria, she began her fashion career and after a few years became a well-known fashion icon in the country. Sisi Abah was a popular designer during the 70s and 80s and her name was always found in the headline during the period. Sisi Abah created a fashion revolution that embraced the beauty of the local Ankara fabric and contributed to how popular the Ankara fabric is in the fashion industry these days.
Abah folawiyo remarkable life as a super socialite had been a subject of fascination for a lot of people. Her professional life and romance were all remarkable not to mention the charm and remarkable presence of the fashion designer. Sisi Abah established herself as a fashion icon to cheer and her commitment to fashion is remarkable. Her designs are always from her heart rather than from her head which makes her outfits warm with love. She founded her fashion label Labanella creation between 1978 and 1981 and puts lots of effort into her design making sure what she makes for people is what she would wear herself.

Her success is beyond the Nigerian fashion industry alone. She has also participated in fashion shows in some of the world’s major fashion capital including Paris, London, and New York. Her fashion label in 1986 organized a project known as “Labanella Goes Ecowest”. This was a fashion show organized in many West African countries and the project was widely applauded and also contributed to her growth as a fashion icon.
According to society watch, her birthday will be celebrated at her place in her palatial residence at OyinkanAbayomi Drive, Ikoyi Lagos. Her birthday celebration is also said to be attended by many celebrities and society top shots.
