7 Designers rocking the Lagos Fashion and Design Week

The Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) is a four-day fashion event that aims to drive the Nigerian – and ultimately, the African – fashion industry; by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the latest collections from African designers in Nigeria’s fashion capital: Lagos.

Here are 7 designers we are extra hyped to see at the event:

Tokyo James

Tokyo James is a British-Nigerian designer and creative director whose exciting brand is for modern men who want simplicity with an edge.


Andrea Iyamah

Andrea Iyamah, owned by Nigerian fashion designer Dumebi Iyamah, is a clothing line “strongly inspired by color and ethnic cultures.”


Maki Oh

Maki Oh, a womenswear brand founded by Amaka Osakwe, fuses traditional African techniques with detailed contemporary construction.


Orange Culture

Creative director, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, describes Orange Culture as a “movement” more than a clothing line, for a creative class of men who he describes as “self aware , expressive, explorative, art-loving nomad[s].”



Onalaja is a contemporary womenswear brand with a focus on perfect execution, craftmasnship and the imaginative concept of luxury and culture.


T.I Nathan

Lisa Folawiyo

Lisa Folawiyo is a multi-faceted global womenswear and accessories collection – fused with its very own African-inspired custom luxury prints, Lisa Folawiyo’s collections skillfully deliver contemporary outfits.


The Lagos Fashion & Design Week will run from October 26 to 29 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island Lagos.
