6 Highlights From Glo Battle Of The Year Nigeria Episode 3

The third edition of The Glo Battle of the Year aired on Saturday, February 19, 2022, and it did not disappoint. We saw twists and turns in episode 3 as some of the fans’ favorites missed out on automatic passage to the finals.

Here are six (6) notable highlights from Episode 3’s regional Bboy and Locking finals.

1. Following his intense semifinal duel with Victor Vic, Bboy Off fainted backstage and was ordered by the medical team to retire from the competition. The 6ft dancer conferred with the medical team, and with fire in his eyes, Bboy Off took the stage and gave his all, but Lil Vic had something extra special as he was named winner in Abuja. This meant that Lil Vic would compete against the top dancers from the other regions in the finals, which were set to take place in Lagos in April.

2. Girl power is a true Superpower! Christiana Gift, the only female Locking Dancer in the tournament, overcame CFly, a Port Harcourt-based Locking dancer, in the Locking finals, to win the automatic qualifying. Still in the Philippines, one of the fans’ favorites, Jared Lee Jarrell, also known as Bboy Midnight, defeated Lil Monster in the PH finals in a battle many dubbed “the battle of David vs Goliath.”

3. In Kaduna, 2014 BOTY Nigeria winner, Bboy Trixx, who defeated his younger brother in the semis, competed against Bboy Lym, and as always, the Champ being the Champ, Trixx came out on top and will fly Kaduna’s as well as his family flag at the finals in Lagos; his brother would undoubtedly be proud of him. Spinoza faced Sammy in the Kaduna Locking finals, which he easily won, earning him a ticket in L agos for the semi-finals and finals.

4. Bboy Prym, a charming and dynamic 21-year-old, made it to the Enugu regional Bboy finals but was unable to gain the automatic ticket to the finals after losing to SixGod.

It was heartbreaking to watch one of the season’s favorite dancers miss out on an automatic finalist spot. Noel, on the other side, defeated Binary in the Locking finals to progress to the Lagos finals.

5. Following his victory over monster slayer Bboy Famous in the Lagos final, Lil Dan deserves to be recognized as the real deal. Now we see why Lil Dan was so eager to show us his dance medals, and we must admit, he has a lot of them. Locking Mike defeated Benedict in the regional Locking finals in Lagos, allowing him to compete alongside the other four participants.

6. There is some good news in that the audience gets the ability to participate in the voting process and bring back their favorite contestants as Wildcards. There is an option to call back at least two of Bboy Off, Bboy Jerry, Bboy Lym, Bboy Prym, Lil Monster, or Bboy Famous to join the six boys in the finals in the Bboy category.
