Every woman needs to eat right, exercise and take these five tests to stay healthy and disease free
1- Dental checkup: have your teeth professionally checked and cleaned twice yearly to keep teeth healthy and spot any other problems early.
2- Body Mass Index: Measure your height and weight to determine if you are at a healthy weight, obese or underweight. This can also be done at home.
3- Pap Smear /Pelvic Exam: All sexually active women starting at age twenty one (21) need to have a pap smear and pelvic exam every two years to detect cervical cancer and other sexually transmitted diseases.
4- Blood Glucose :Starting from age 45 , schedule a blood glucose teat every three years. Women with a strong family history of diabetes should start earlier.
5- Breast Exams: Starting at age 20, schedule a clinical breast exam and self examine yourself often at home for any breast lumps, nipple discharge and any abnormalities.
