The 16th edition of the Headies Awards witnesses a remarkable moment in the Nigerian music industry as Ahmed Ololade, renowned Afro-fusion singer, better known as Asake, trends on social media as he bags the Next Rated Award and Album of the Year.
The YBNL signee was greeted by thunderous applause on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in Atlanta, after he was bestowed with the prestigious title of “Next Rated Artist”
Asake’s double platinum album, Mr. Money also won the Album of the Year.
Nevertheless, Asake faced defeat in the Song of the Year category, as his senior colleague Burna Boy clinched the victory with his chart-topping hit, ‘Last Last.’
