The legendary Nollywood actress ventured into politics under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and immediately drummed up support for Atiku. Funke Akindele is the running mate of Lagos State’s PDP gubernatorial candidate Olajide Adediran (Jandor). If Tinubu fails to win the presidential election, Akindele will have a good chance of becoming the next deputy governor of Lagos State because voters may decide to reject the APC in the state.

Another celebrity that has supported Atiku because they are vying for seats in the same party is singer, actor, and entrepreneur Banky W. The “Ebutte Metta” crooner bagged the party’s ticket to contest for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives. Banky W did not hide his support for Atiku and gave him a warm welcome when he visited the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency. Sadly for the actor, he lost the House of Representatives seat to the Labour Party’s candidate. It remains to be seen if he will challenge the outcome in court or accept it in good faith.
