2023 Election: Media Personality Lolo Ran Away After Her Voting Centre Was Disrupted

Nigerian media personality Lolo has said the voting process in her centre in Ajah was disrupted with the use of violence and juju, and she had to flee for safety. Lolo took to Instagram to narrate her ordeal in a video post, stating:

“Ladies and gentlemen, you can see the way we’re sweating. The polling unit that I was inside Ajah, they came with juju, started to scuttle the whole process, they scattered the whole place. We had to run for our dear lives. Trust me, this is what happened in my own polling unit in Ajah. I am distressed, I’m unhappy that in this 2023 that we’re supposed to be expecting better, we’re still seeing this happening. it’s just unfortunate.”

The media personality is not the only public figure who went online to say the voting process at their station has been disrupted.

Nigerian singer Falz complained about similar occurrences at his station. Falz lost his phone in the process before normalcy was restored and he got it back. Actor Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha also went live on Instagram when the electoral process in her voting centre was disrupted. The thespian shed tears in the video as she struggled to hide from attacks in her station.

Comedian Mr. Macaroni called out individuals disrupting the electoral process and noted that he has voted and will wait until his vote was counted and announced before leaving the centre.

Nigerians came out in large numbers on Saturday to vote for candidates of their choice in the 2023 presidential, senatorial, and House of Representatives elections.

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party’s candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu are the major candidates for the presidential seat.
