The Afrobeat superstar Burna Boy has now explained why he remained largely mute during the House of Assembly and Presidential elections.
The Grammy winner questioned why Nigerians look forward to his posts about the elections on his Instagram story.
Burna Boy claims that he does not have a favorite candidate in the current race. He went on to claim that the reason he had kept quiet was to avoid misleading Nigerians into making a bad choice and then facing criticism for it.

His final demand was for a free and fair election that would allow the most qualified candidate to prevail.
He wrote:
“I dunno why its such a big deal to some Nigerians that i’ve not been vocal about the elections. Personally I don’t have a candidate that i believe in.
I’ve never supported any political party or candidate in my life because I don’t want to make you vote and then blame me when the persons f#cks up as usual. That being said, I hope all votes count and the best man wins.”
