Marc Jacobs who took home the CFDA Award for Womenswear Designer of the Year on Monday presented his resort 2017 collection in New York on Tuesday, and it took this kitschy, high-gloss theme to the max. From the teased, crimped hair and bold, black eyeliner to the pop culture-inspired motifs and loud, mixed prints that ran the gamut from checkers to leopard print to abstract neon squiggles, it was an explosion of retro goodness.
The Highlight for the show was hero piece of the collection, the MTV sweatshirt, which hearkens back to the network’s early days, when it featured frequent colorful animations of the logo.
