Sidetalks & Catwalks Is Back!!!

The Boxing Day All-White Party

Christmas is around the corner again and as always it’s a festivity galore with events and shows popping off every day till the Newyear and beyond. Francis Ebie, CEO of Grind Grills & Events will be pioneering the first of its kind All-White Boxing Day Party which will hold at Muri Okunola Park. Good music, good people all set in a fantasy themed environment and more security than the US President can afford! DJ Cuppy and DJ eCool will be on the decks as well. Celebrities, socialites and beautiful people will also be in attendance. Unfortunately it’s strictly by invitation but if you are nice then maybe, just maybe, Santa Tasha may send you one.

How To Do The All-White Trend

1. Confidence: The first tip for how to wear an all-white outfit is to have confidence. Put to rest all those silly rules about when and where you should wear white. Just have fun with your look and don’t be afraid to experiment with an all-white outfit. Take inspiration from your favourite celebrities, designer runways, and style bloggers and use their outfits as a guide for how to pull off the all-white.

2. Texture: Stop your all white outfit from looking too flat by experimenting with different textures. By playing with texture you’ll be adding another dimension to your overall look.

3. Layers: Kind of like the tip on texture, layering your white clothes will help add. Wear a cropped jacket over a longline tank and skirt or maybe wear a long coat over a top and jeans. Being thoughtful with layers and balance is also another way to show off your styling know-how.

4. Accessories: You can easily change the feel of your all white outfit just by switching up your accessories. Glam it up with metallic jewellery and clutches, or dress it down with bright baubles and patterned accessories. If you want to achieve an entirely monochrome look but don’t have white shoes or bags handy, try neutral accessories that ‘blend in’ instead.

MMR AFRICA is Almost Here!!!

Once again, MMR AFRICA has rolled around and this year promises another exciting crop of talent from both the music and the fashion sectors. This time around the show has been tagged “New World Treasure” with a host of activities lined up to deliver a world class event. There’s also the Rising Icons segment sponsored by Sovereign Trust Insurance which will see 10 upcoming designers vying for the prize of Three Million Naira. Last year, Nigeria designer, April by Kunbi clinched that prize money and went on to do many significant things this year. The main lineup of designers includes talent from across the continent and Nigeria as well. We are not yet clear on the hosts of this year’s show but if MMR’s track record is anything to go by, Wednesday will indeed be an amazing night.
