FOR THE LOVE OF THE KIDS, AS KFI HOST 2ND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

“I am so thankful for this experience; the amazing smiles from the beautiful kids make it all worth it. It was a fun and life‐altering experience for me as I learnt not to sweat the little stuff and be grateful for all I have. It shows how genuinely happy people can be in any situation.

I connected with a lot of these children and cannot wait to go back to Makoko” these were the words of the  delectable Ms Anita Okoye who together with the amiable Ms Lola Omotayo Okoye, Ms Mia El‐Khouri Commazi, Ms Amal , Mr Alberto Commazzi, also the jet ski rider club join the celebration coming by boats, and other friends of the Kinabuti team graced the recently organized Christmas party for the kids of Makoko community.

Following the success of its first edition held in 2013 in Orile community in Lagos, The Kinabuti Fashion Initiative with gracious support from numerous donor such as Dana group, Indomie, Oando, Pepsi, The Lebanese Ladies Society and many more, was able to make its second edition a reality. The organized Christmas party was to celebrate with the kids of the Makoko community whilst inspiring them on the power of believing in their dreams.

The event, which kicked off upon the arrival of everyone by boats to the floating school the venue for the party, had in attendance the famous DJ Rolly (of Rhapsody) who was the special guest of the occasion. The children were treated to snacks and drinks and special appearance by Santa Claus with well over 500 goodie bags to distribute to each child present. We always aim to bring joy and happiness to these children especially during the significant
period of Christmas”, said Ms Caterina Bortolussi (Director KFI) during her speech.

Also during the event, was the awards presentation ceremony for the students of concluded Cinematography and film training course packaged Kinabuti & the Richard Coker Foundation which spanned for 1 month. The program which was part of the Dare2Dream project saw youths from Orile and Makoko trained by the Richard Coker Foundation on the skill of Cinematography and Film production.

The event which was covered by Pulse.ng and Cool FM, ended with loads of group photographs of the team and the kids. The kids went home with smiles on their faces.
