Gandoki sets new comedy record

The Nigerian comedy industry is agog as one of its key players, Tony Mofe Ereku, aka Gandoki, has set a world record with a 48-hour non-stop comedy performance.

The entertainer broke the previous record of 40 hours 8 minutes set in 2013 by David Scott, a U.S. comedian.

The journey to making world record was set in motion by the artiste on September 29 with 600 topics climaxing on Saturday, October 1 at the Exclusive Mansion Hotel, Oniru, Lagos.

“I’m doing this to showcase Nigeria to the world and also show our strength and resilience as a country in spite of the present economic situation.

“I’m also doing this for the Niger Delta people because I am from that part of the country and I want people to know that we are not a violent people.

“It will inspire many young people to believe in their ability and be the best in all areas of their endeavours. With my kind of comedy, hopefully, I will set a new Guinness World Record,” the artiste had said before making the feat.
