In an exclusive interview with Oluwakayode Etti who still can’t believe he is the winner of Vlisco Fashion Fund 2017 with a whooping 2 million Naira grant, he speaks on his big plans with the fashion grant as his major goal is to set up his own fashion school and get his brand out there. He also doubles as the creative director of the fashion brand Skentele by Etti. Here is an exclusive interview granted by Glamsquadmagazine entertainment reporter Chiazor Daniel.
Can you tell us your name?!
My name is Oluwakayode Etti, I am the creative director of Skentele by Etti.
How do you feel winning this Fashion Fund grant?
I can’t still believe it, I feel like am dreaming because this is huge and it means a lot to me.
Can you tell us about the process that you went through to win this?
A friend of mine introduced me to this and told me to apply. At first I was a bit skeptical about it but then I gave in my best and wrote my business plan and did everything and then I was called back for the interview and they gave us some tasks to produce a garment and I just tried to put in my best who knows I might win or not win.
So what are your big plans?
I am planning on my fashion school, its actually a big boost to help me build my structure for my fashion school and also include my production in order to get my brand out there.

Now what do you have to say about a male doing female outfits?
I think it doesn’t have to do with gender, I think its amazing to just do what you love to do and not deviate because of gender.
How long have you been in the fashion industry?
I have been in the fashion industry about six years now but I only started my brand early this year.
