A Lagos based lawyer Olumide Babalola who charged the celebrity gossip blogger before the Lagos High Court, for the use of unauthorized and offensive picture of him on her blog.
It is believed that Barrister Olumide Babalola is no small fish himself as he just recently returned from the US where he was awarded with an award for quality and excellence in business in recognition of his varying public interest litigation.
n Suit No. LD/3265MFHR/2016 before Hon. Justice O.H. Oshodi, the lawyer sued the blogger for damages in the sum of N50m for the unauthorized use of his picture on her blog for crime-related stories. According to him, the crime related stories ‘
subjected him to mental and psychological torture in violation of his constitutional right to dignity of human person and freedom from degrading treatment’.
Hearing has been fixed for September and until then, the Judge in charge of the case, Justice O.H. Oshodi has restrained Linda Ikeji of posting the lawyer’s picture on her blog or face arrest and remand in prison pending the outcome of the case.
