Nollywood star actress and producer, Shan George has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the $200m donation made by former president Goodluck Jonathan’s government for the development of the Nigerian movie industry.

Her call is as a result of the statement of the Bank Of Industry that it didn’t get any money from the Jonathan administration for Nollywood. You will recall that legendary actor Larry Williams had also recently asked President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the aforementioned fund.

BoI stated that it has been funding Nollywood from its own coffers and has nothing to do with the said funds. The bank said, “BoI would like to state for the records that it is not managing any $200 Million Entertainment/Nollywood Fund and at no time did the Bank receive any such fund from the government for the Entertainment/Nollywood sector.”

Shan feels a probe is necessary as she believes that the money has been embezzled and EFFC should look into it and bring perpetrators to book. She said to Daily Post, “I’m using this fine morning to ask this fine question. Who ate the money ex-president Jonathan gave to Nollywood? EFCC please probe this.”

Do you think that this money was actually paid to the Bank of Industry? Who do you think is lying? The Good Luck Administration or the Bank Of Industry?
