7 Epic Fashion Blunders never to commit

We should stop giving people rules on how to dress, especially when it comes to street style. Street style is freedom. Still, you can’t take that for granted. We can’t help but stop for a minute with glaring eyes to lose our focus, with a headache into the bargain, when we see you carrying a pair of heels in your hand, wearing bathroom slippers on your feet while strutting on the streets – It’s irksome to look at. And no, we can’t close our eyes either. So just till you get it right, and cause we care about you, we wouldn’t stop giving you rules. There are a couple of things, which have been pet peeves for us in the past weeks and here are the 7 you will not regret taking note of.

– Imitation

Imitation of high-class outfit using really low brand stuff can never look as cool as the real outfit you are trying so hard to imitate. It’ll only look tacky and like you are really struggling to be cool – at least that’s what we can see. Use the freedom you have to be creative enough to your outfit even if it’s not a top class brand

– Fitting

No matter how much freedom there is in street style outfits, or how much an outfit looks on others. You may not be able to pull it off on yourself. Do not wear clothes that don’t fit you. Period.

– Over accessorizing

People were accessories that make the outfit sour. When they wear too much it ruins the look. And accessories are meant to complement. It’s not even attractive to look at; clothing without accessories is like going to a party and only being served white rice? (cruel and unusual) What happened to the stew and chicken? Isn’t that the part we all look forward to? However, you wouldn’t want to over accessorize your outfit, else it’s a distraction.

– Structure

As much as you may want to wear jeans and an oversized tee, it’s important to not look messy like an “I just woke up from bed” look. Give a structure to your look.

– Repetition

Enough with the black bags. You and your black bags have been through thick and thin. Try other colours and print too. Also don’t carry the same thing over and over again. The first time it’s cool, second, well okay, third, Nah. The bag begins to wear out. We can only but feel sorry for such a (previous) beauty. Give the bag a break and surprise us like we haven’t seen it before.

– Over stuffing

Common! There is a limit to what every wallet can take. Do not overstuff it with those POS receipts giving to you every time you are billed for your meal at the café. Try to keep just the last one and keep your wallet tidy.

– Odor

So your shoe looks really nice but we don’t even get to see the beauty because *Ahem* (clears throat) we’ve turned the other cheek after the slap from the stinking shoes. Air your shoes! It’s a turn-off! Case closed!
